bumping cousins

Iceland is a country of just 300,000 people.

When the average high summer temperature is just 14 degrees celsius, and the average low winter temperature is -3 degrees celsius, and there is an average of 10 rainy days every month – there is very little reason to be outside.

The problem with indoor activities in such a small gene pool is the risk of swimming with a cousin.

The Book of Icelanders is a genealogy website with a special feature – “Bump the app before you bump in bed.”

Before they get naked, the amorous couple bump phones and if they are too closely related, the incest alarm will sound.  ( As an extra precaution, it can be arranged to have the Mothers burst out of the cupboard to make sure they don’t hit the snooze button on the alarm. )

One user commented:   “If I would have had this app last year,” he wrote, “I probably wouldn’t have gone home with my cousin.”

Wait a minute, did he say “probably“???

bds gaza strawberries

Blogger Elder of Ziyon highlights another complication with the BDS’ers.

Gaza strawberry farmers are selling their crop to Israel and also attending agricultural events held by the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture.

How inconvenient.

how to get your partner fired

Fundawear is vibrating underwear that is activated via smartphone.

Sounds like fun.

But it also raises some troubling questions:

Imagine you are in the middle of your annual performance review in the bosses office and your better half dials up the fun.  An orgasm may or may not enhance your chances of a bonus or a promotion.  It may just get them fired instead of fired up.

Or you repeatedly buzz your partner while they are travelling on public transport.

Do the laws about using your smartphone when driving also apply to this, or will we see a huge increase in peak hour car accidents?  People will be exchanging insurance details in the throes of an orgasm, perhaps leading to an exchange of mobile numbers as well.

it will make for some very interesting reading in insurance claim forms, and on the positive side there will probably be many less claims for whiplash injuries.  ( That may happen in a later x-rated s&m upgraded version. )

And what happens if there is a crossed line and you buzz another persons fundawear – that could be awkward, especially if your called id is visible.

Or what happens if there is call waiting when you send your buzz to your loved one – does that mean they are being buzzed by someone else?

something to think about

So many words have been written and spoken about Israel and the Palestinians – too much of it is uninformed or second-hand information, not backed-up by facts.

Elyakim Haetzni takes a look at some of the issues that have blown out of proportion over the years and finds many good reasons for a fair approach in looking at the issues and finding a way to end the conflict and make peace.

bds, suck on this

Not much needs to be said about this short list of Israeli developments and discoveries.

If they were serious and sincere, BDS advocates would also boycott all these products and innovations, and any other products that have been developed from them.

Any takers?

a minimum of respect

How is it possible not to be amused by this story?

Apparently he was instructed to reach a situation of a ‘container with a lid fastened on it.’  The toilet in an airplane certainly fits that definition, no need for a human-sized condom.

His rabbi, Rabbi Brook, asks for the minimum of respect.  I agree, and that is what is given – the minimum.

There are too many funny things in this story to be listed here, at least we have photographic evidence that it actually happened – otherwise who would believe it?

Readers Talkback comment number 10 says it nicely.

ethiopian immigration

Shimon Solomon is another one of many Ethiopians living in Israel who have had great achievements, despite the difficulties they faced on their way to Israel.

Yet they still face hardships in Israel as they try to settle and build new lives for themselves.

And it is not good enough that after more than 20 years of immigration to Israel from Ethiopia these stories are considered exceptional, rather than being the norm

It is unfortunate that while Israel does a great thing by bringing them to Israel, we do not learn from the mistakes of previous governments in absorbing large numbers of immigrants from Arab and African countries since 1948.

gold medal awarded in hacker olympics

Dog_Fts is the winner of the inaugural gold medal in the inaugural Hacker Olympics.

The cyber attack on Israel announced by Anonymous came and went without too much harm done to Israeli websites.

However Anonymous’s own website was hacked by Israeli hacker Dog_Fts and is apparently down until further notice.

Talk about a variation on the old saying “man bites dog…”.

disconnected

The Italians need a stronger union movement – how can Mayor Buffoni get away with such an unacceptable ban?

The article does not say if the workers were working more efficiently before or after the ban.  Odds on they were getting more work done  BEFORE  the mayor took action.
