apartheid in israel

Whilst Israel’s treatment of its Arab and Palestinian population may be some way from where it should be, the inconvenient truth is that most of the Arab and Palestinian population has a largely untroubled existence here.

Contrary to what the haters want you to believe, the Arab and Palestinian population has far greater freedoms than citizens of all the other Middle Eastern nations.

Certainly there is not yet full equality and there are still too many instances of institutionalised discrimination which must be fixed – but many of the problems they face here are the same problems from which the Jewish population suffers.

They work in cities all over the country, in all areas of the economy.

Not a big deal you may say – and not more than they deserve, you may say.  But it is not the picture that many people want you to see.

Even outside of East Jerusalem, they walk and work among us freely – on the receiving end of Israeli “politeness”, like all of us!
