new-style anti-semitism

A Kenyan lawyer, Dola Indidis, has filed a petition with the International Court of  Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, asking for the State of Israel to be put in trial for the execution of Jesus.

“Evidence today is on record in the bible, and you cannot discredit the bible,” Indidis told Kenyan Citizen News.

You can’t make this stuff up!

Mr Indidis is a former spokesman of the Kenyan judiciary, so he should know better.

As is often the case, he may find more worthy causes is his own backyard.

Unfortunately Kenya has a history of political violence and corruption, particularly since independence in 1963.

Kenya was recently ranked 147 out of 180 countries on a corruption index.

Political violence has been the cause of death of thousands of Kenyans, with hundreds of thousands displaced.

Billions of dollars have been stolen by corrupt leaders, politicians and business people – leaving much of the Kenyan population in poverty.

An estimated 50% of the population live below the poverty line, living on less than $2.00 per day.

Don’t worry so much about Jesus or Israel, and try to improve the plight of your own countrymen, women and children.

finally, a reason to “like” fb

In the not too distant future we will look at facebook and ask – what were we thinking?

We have freely given all our personal information, photos, thoughts and feelings and online activity to company run by a teenager who changes the privacy rules at a whim.

At last there is something to like about it.

Threat Matrix is a blog of The Long War Journal.

They have been tracking the Burgas terror suspects from the 2012 bus bombing on Facebook and have come up with some interesting details.

Like.

turkeys and birds

Stupidity beyond comprehension.

Hollywood would reject this storyline as too stupid – yet Governments are wasting resources on x-raying birds.

And we are reading about it in the press.

it must be april 1st

In the same week as dozens of Egyptians are being killed in protests, Syrian civilians are still being massacred by government forces and at least 20 school children were massacred in Nigeria, the International Criminal Court has chosen to look into the option of opening an investigation against Israel in the Mavi Marmara incident.

blatter blabber

Don’t get me wrong, I love sport, but…

Utterly corrupt FIFA president Sepp Blatter is trying to give Israel a lecture on freedom and espousing the soccer body’s lofty goal of connecting people, not separating them.

What a joke.

( Tell that to the millions of Brasilians living in poverty, while their Government wastes enormous amounts of money preparing to host Mondial 2014.  The Brasilian public will get no benefit from this event, nor any connecting. )

Blatter said he wants to speak to Israeli politicians about easing travel restrictions on Palestinian soccer players, so they can participate in matches.

I hope that the Israeli politicians refuse to meet with him.

Again, I love sport.  I really love sport, but…

Why should a few sportsmen be given preferential treatment over the rest of the Palestinian population?  If restrictions are eased for them, restrictions should be eased for all Palestinians.

However, restrictions should not be eased on anyone until the security of Israel’s citizens can be assured.  As long as Palestinians are calling for violence against Israel, and daily attempts are being made to enter Israel for violent aims, they should not be allowed easy access into Israel.  They have free access inside their own jurisdiction, they can play soccer there.

ali ahmed for president

Ali Ahmed is a 12 year-old Egyptian boy who has summarised the Egyptian crisis in 3 minutes.

In a street interview, he eloquently and soberly explains the economic, political, religious and social problems that Egyptian society faces.

It is clear that he is expressing his own opinions and not parroting what he has been taught, because he addresses his answers to each specific question, and is not just speaking generalities.

The world, and particularly the Middle East, needs more people like Ali Ahmed.

short and sharp

Ian Livingston, an observant Jew, was recently selected as trade and investment minister by British Prime Minister Cameron.

He is leaving his position as BT chief executive for the ministerial position.

He had this to say about a BDS-type request:

During his time at BT Livingston dismissed calls by charity War on Want for the company to disassociate itself from the Israel telecom company Bezeq, and told The Jewish Chronicle: “I have not received a single email from anyone in War on Want expressing any concerns about a relationship we may or many not have had in Syria, in Libya or anywhere else. You wonder and ask yourself repeatedly: Why is it? Is it anti-Americanism? Is it anti-Semitism? Is it anti-Zionism where they treat Israel differently? … That is a discomfort I feel just now. It is not a personal discomfort. It is a discomfort about something in society.”

sunni shi’ite wahhabi salafi jew

Lee Keath is the Cairo-based Middle East Enterprise Editor at Associated Press.

The Times of Israel has published his article, an unbiased historical account of the Sunni-Shi’ite Muslim history of conflict.

Reading about the divisions between the different Muslim sects, it is surprising that they have the time or energy to direct their hatred towards Jews and Israel.

Certainly many more Muslims have been killed by other Muslims since the death of the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century, than have been killed by Jews.

And Israel has never called for death to Muslims, nor for the destruction of any other nation.
