risks of female masturbation

This memritv.org clip may date back to 2006, but it is still a gem.

It is worth watching to the 3 minute mark, to hear him say:

“…She does not deserve to be killed.  At the most, she should be flogged…”

No further comments necessary.

name the crime

What is the biggest crime here:

  • a senior heart surgeon leaves a public hospital heart patient on the operating table in distress, in order to perform an operation in a private hospital, and the first patient dies?
  • that the same surgeon did this on more than one occasion?
  • that a patient was forced to make a donation to the hospital fund rasing arm before he would perform an urgent operation?
  • that these forced donations are common practice in hospitals?
  • that it is barely reported in the English-language press?
  • that it took 16 years for the Health Ministry to finally make a decision in the case?
  • the penalty was a paltry 3 month suspension of his medical license?
  • or that the doctor had the chutzpa to appeal the suspension?

seriously?

Read it twice to make sure you understand.

When some people criticise religion as taking things to the extreme, it is impossible to dispute this when you see that the secular-majority Israeli public has this lunacy forced upon it.

This is the story, in a nutshell…

“…The Israel Water Authority years ago arranged to stop pumping water from the lake into the National Water Carrier three days before Passover.

The move came in order to accommodate Israelis who chose not to drink tap water during the holiday out of concern the water from the lake, an open body of water, might contain chametz ( bread ), leavening forbidden for consumption by Jews on Passover…”

Yes, really.

houses don’t kill, people do

Calls for sanction on Israel over the building of houses in the West Bank is absurd, to say the least.  The claim that it is a deterrent to peace is an excuse repeatedly used by the Palestinians to justify their own refusal to make compromises for peace.

As history has shown, when territory is returned the houses built there stay there.  Israel withdrew from Sinai and from Gaza, leaving the buildings intact.

There are no calls for sanctions against the Palestinian Authority for terrorist attacks, killing innocent men, women and children.

Houses can be returned, but dead people can’t be brought back to life.

The Deadly Israeli House was written by Daniel Greenfield on his blog Sultan Knish.  It is worth reading.

sport is better than religion

The recently expired Tal Law was enacted to allow yeshiva students to defer from compulsory service in the IDF.

At the moment there are 54,000 yeshiva students studying under the protection of this law.

The same army, along with the Ministries of Sport and Education allow deferrals to just 12 athletes under the Outstanding Athlete category.

Granted, you would struggle to find 12 genuinely outstanding athletes in this country, but there is no doubt that Michal Been  easily falls within that category.

And yes, sport is better than religion.

finally, a fatwa to follow

Ignoring for a moment the incitement to violence in his message, Dr. Maher al-Huli, head of the fatwa department in the Palestine Scholars Association might be onto something.

The Scholars are banning foreign Muslims from visiting the Temple Mount as long as Jerusalem is under Israeli control.  This may help to ease the tension in the area and end the regular rioting and rock throwing.

The fatwa specifies “foreign” Muslims from visiting, meaning the locals are still permitted to go there.

The basis of the fatwa is that the Temple Mount is under Israeli control – doesn’t this suggest that all Muslims there are “foreign”, so none should be allowed to enter?

A newly elected extreme MK will be overjoyed with this fatwa.

lords and democracies

It is not enough that Lord Nazir Ahmed was released from prison after serving only 16 days of his sentence – he is blaming his conviction on a Jewish conspiracy.

What was his crime?

A man was killed in December 2007 after his car was hit by Ahmed’s Jaguar near Sheffield, in south Yorkshire. The police said that while he was driving at  70mph, he had sent and received five text messages.

He has a history of anti-Israeli activism and supporting anti-Semitic activists.

The English parliament will soon start to resemble Israel’s Knesset with the number of accused and convicted members sitting in the halls of power.

very classy

Australians For Palestine have reprinted an article from the Ma’an News Agency on their website.

Compare the photo used by AFP when copying the article on their website to the original photo used by Ma’an.

The article itself is reprinted word-for-word.  It always shows good taste to use Holocaust comparisons.

I am waiting for the AFP to start campaigning for the Australian Aboriginal communities to receive full compensation from mining companies working on traditional tribal land.

They might also want to support the Aboriginal right of return.

Or not, some of the land might just be where they themselves live.

coitus interruptus

What a way to go.  Certainly no faking that climax.

The boyfriend managed to escape wearing nothing but a condom – he must have looked a sight, running out of the bushes screaming for help.

water in the middle east

The Commentator has an interesting article on water usage and wastage in the Middle East, and who is to blame.
